Kindergarten News 1-12-15

Special points of interest:

· Monday, Jan. 12th-Report cards sent home
· Spirit Week  - Jan. 12th-16th
· Thursday, 15th-Spirit Night
· Friday, Jan. 16th-Scholastic orders and Penguin rookeries are due.
· Monday, Jan. 19th– School Holiday/MLK Day
· Monday, Jan. 26th-100th Day of School –students may dress like they are 100 years old.



Penguin Rookery
Please do not forget to send in your penguin rookery by this Friday, Jan. 16th.  A penguin rookery is a place where penguins hatch their eggs and rear their young.  Please help your child construct a rookery to bring into class. To build a rookery, just fill a shoe box or basket with shreds of fabric, Kleenex, buttons, rocks, etc.

             Wear a SGES shirt and jeans!
            Pep Rally – 2:15 in the gym
Spirit night at the basketball games starting at 3:30 pm. The Junior Dragon cheerleaders will cheer at half-time of the 8th grade boys game.
 (approximately  5:45 pm)
Join us for face painting and to cheer on the  SGES
 basketball teams and Junior Dragon cheerleaders.

We are studying about the Arctic and Antarctic circle during this month, and part of our unit will focus on the animals and their habitats, penguins and polar bears. A penguin rookery is a place where penguins hatch their eggs and rear their young.  Please help your child construct a    rookery to bring into class. To build a rookery, just fill a shoe-box or basket with shreds of fabric, Kleenex, buttons, rocks, etc. Please have your child bring his or her rookery to class by next Friday, Jan. 16th., so their penguin eggs will stay war

Kindergarten News   Dec. 15, 2014

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

Field Trip Wednesday!
Our field trip to Home Depot is Wednesday. Please do not forget to have your child bring his or her car seat to school Wednesday. Students may wear their everyday uniform. Please make sure you have completed the permission form emailed out last week.

Special points of interest:

Wed., Dec. 17th-Home Depot Field Trip-Everyday uniform.  Also, last day to bring in an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots.

Thurs., Dec.18th -Pajama Party and Lessons and Carols– The children may come to school dressed in his or her fuzzy  pajamas (no nightgowns). We have several things planned for a very fun day. Please have your child wear athletic shoes with their pajamas so they may have some time to run around and play outside.  I told the children they may bring slippers in their book bag to wear in the classroom, if they can put their shoes on by themselves.  Lessons and Carols begins at 7:00 (3rd-8th grade perform)  It’s a wonderful evening of Christmas music!
Fri., Dec.20th-Christmas Pageant –during morning Chapel (Pre-K through 2nd grade perform) and Christmas party following play-11:30 dismissal (no after school)

Kindergarten News 12-1-14

Field Trip Friday
Our field trip to the Legacy Theatre is this Friday. Students need to wear their dress uniform and bring a large snack for the morning. We will leave school at 9:15 and return to school for a late lunch around 1:00.

 SIGHT WORD LIST
 Please make sure your child is
practicing his or her sight word list each night. We would like all students to have completed sight word list “9” by Christmas.
