Kindergarten News  1-26-15

Special Point of Interest:
· Fri., Feb. 13th-Valentines Day Party
· Mon.-Tues., Feb. 16th-17th-Winter Holidays
· Wed. Feb. 18th-Parent-Teacher Conferences (Please email me if you have a particular time that would be best for us to meet in the afternoon. 1:00-5:30)

The children are welcomed to bring their nap bags back to class for the remainder of the third quarter.  During the fourth quarter of kindergarten, we change from nap time to quiet time for reading, and we don't put out the mats. We do this in order to get our little ones ready for first grade.

cI hope everyone received the birthday invitations enclosed in your child’s folder for Megan’s party and Camille/Liam’s party.  Camille and Liam’s birthday party has been changed to Sunday, Jan. 25th at 1:30.

Tattoos (50 cents) and pom poms (1 dollar) are on sale for spirit day. The kids may buy them during lunch tomorrow and Thursday.

Penguin Rookery
Please do not forget to send in your penguin rookery by this Friday, Jan. 16th.  A penguin rookery is a place where penguins hatch their eggs and rear their young.  Please help your child construct a rookery to bring into class. To build a rookery, just fill a shoe box or basket with shreds of fabric, Kleenex, buttons, rocks, etc.

Join us for face painting and to cheer on the  SGES
 basketball teams and Junior Dragon cheerleaders.

We are studying about the Arctic and Antarctic circle during this month, and part of our unit will focus on the animals and their habitats, penguins and polar bears. A penguin rookery is a place where penguins hatch their eggs and rear their young.  Please help your child construct a    rookery to bring into class. To build a rookery, just fill a shoe-box or basket with shreds of fabric, Kleenex, buttons, rocks, etc. Please have your child bring his or her rookery to class by next Friday, Jan. 16th., so their penguin eggs will stay war
